Homework

1. Homework makes us more independent, and lets us review the lesson, so we don’t forget the lesson that we took.

  • Public school is 6 to 8 hours a day, which is plenty of time to study. Students don’t need to review the lesson after studying all day. They can just review during class the next day.
  • What if you finish your homework then the next day without reviewing your teacher asked you, would you know the answer?
  • Reviewing is important, but it doesn’t have to happen at night after school. The teacher can make time to review at the beginning of each lesson.
  • But, school should be 3 or 4 hours so they have the rest of the day to study.

2. If students don’t have homework, they have more time for physical activity like sports or clubs. This is also very important.

  • If school starts at 8 am and finishes at 12, you can study for 2 hours and finish at 2 and you have the rest of the afternoon.

3. Doing homework creates stress for young kids because they feel too much pressure for school, and can’t have enough fun.

  • Correct, but homework is not the only thing that makes me stressed. Quizzes, Tests, Answers, Competitions etc. make more stress than homework. If homework makes stress teachers should make the homework easier, have one lesson per week, or shorten school days so kids can have free time to do all things they want.

4. Some kids like getting the correct answer to feel happy and brilliant, if they are depressed or there are people making fun of her.

  • Kids who do well on homework also do well on tests, so they will still feel happy and brilliant when they get a good score on the test. They don’t homework for that.
  • But, if you take a lesson and at the end of the week (next lesson) you will take a test, you will forget the content if you didn’t do your homework.
