Make school days shorter

1. Longer school days will help parents because most workdays are 8 hours long. So, the parents need to work 8 hours, and drive to school. So, something like a 9-hour day would help parents manage their work and their kids’ schedules.

  • Bosses should make work hours shorter. Also, it is the parents’ problem, so why should kids suffer their for their parents’ problems. Also, why did they get married if they are not ready to have a child and dedicate lots of time for the child?
  • If bosses shorten the work hours, then the parents’ salary will decrease, and the family will have less money. Also, children are the legal responsibility of their parents until they turn 18. So, if a parent makes a mistake, the child will definitely suffer. Children are not independent until they turn 18.
  • Yes, so parents’ shouldn’t have a baby until they are ready to take care of the child properly.
  • Many people get married because they are in love and don’t necessarily want children. However, sometimes women can get pregnant even when they weren’t expecting to. So, the couple has a child.
  • The wife should take tests to make sure all is ok, or take medicine that stops the pregnancy.

2. The relationship of children with their mother and father, can be destroyed if they don’t see them, and many parents find out things about their child they didn’t know because they don’t know the child well.

  • If parents and kids spend too much time together, the kids can’t become independent and take care of themselves.
  • It is the parents’ responsibility to manage their child’s time, so the child has the opportunity to become independent.

3. The more time kids spend with their teachers, the more chances they have to learn. A longer school day lets kids have 1 or 2 extra classes every day, so they can learn more.

  • They learn by taking classes and finishing quizzes, but are they really learning inside their brain, or do they just take the answer and not understand it? For example, you can be good at math, but do you really understand the equation?
  • Children are more likely to misunderstand if their teacher isn’t there to help them. So kids give up on trying to understand when they’re at home. If they’re at school, they can ask their teacher and try to understand it better.
  • Now we have google so they can google it, and most teachers don’t like questions.
  • Google is useful, but there is a lot of incorrect information online. It helps to discuss it with someone to make sure you understand correctly.
  • Correct but you should look at different articles by different authors.

4. Some kids don’t learn about their hobbies if they are at school all the time.

  • Many schools offer art, music, sports, and other clubs for kids to participate in. They could spend a few hours each day working on those hobbies.
  • But how should kids know which one to join? For example, if I had one free hour and I joined sports, but I would fit better in robotics, there is a chance I would never discover robotics.
  • I think that schools should let kids try many activities instead of just one or two. That way, the kids can discover which ones suit them best.
  • But they don’t have time because there are many classes.
